About the Author: Alissa Wood is the
author of the new detective series, Vicki
Silver Mysteries. She began writing the
series at the age of 14 while she was
attending Wayside Middle School in
Saginaw, Texas. By the time she
graduated from Boswell High School,
she had completed a total of seven
books in the series.
“The Stolen Gem” was the first book she
wrote. Alissa has prepared each book
for publication, but they remain true to
their original characters and story line.
Alissa is currently an English major in
college and enjoys participating in
theater.
Some of the characters that are part of

inspired by Alissa’s friends and family,
but all characters and events are works
of fiction.

Book Signing: Alissa conducted her first book
signing at the Hastings Book Store in
Waxahachie on December 7, 2007. Alissa is
seen in this photo with her friend Vanessa from
College.
The book signing was a great event, and a
tremendous success. The people of
Waxahachie and S.A.G.U. were very kind to come
by and talk to Alissa, and try out her new book.
The local newspaper, The Waxahachie Daily
Light, did an interview and spread the word
about this exciting event.
